Maureen Garner

Dr. Garner is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been practicing for more than 25 years in both Michigan and Ohio. Dr. Garner received a MA in Higher Education and a PH.D. in Psychology from the University of Toronto. She completed a post-doctoral internship in child and adolescent psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Michigan State University and continued with post-doctoral training at MSU in child and adolescent psychology and in adult clinical psychology at an accredited private practice.

After relocating to the Toledo area, Dr. Garner provided neurobehavioral assessment and treatment services at Toledo Hospital and Toledo Children’s Hospital. Subsequently, she was the Director of the Adolescent Residential Program at the Toledo Center for Eating Disorders (formerly River Centre Clinic) and recently provided outpatient services at TCED. Dr. Garner was in private practice in Ann Arbor for ten years offering counseling for a range of behavioral health issues.

Ms. Misra received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Toledo and is a licensed social worker and chemical dependency counselor. As part of her master’s program, she interned at the Kobacker Center at UTMC where she worked with children and adolescents by providing outpatient mental health services. In addition, she interned at Arrowhead Behavioral Health where she gained experience completing assessments and leading group mental health and substance abuse treatment services.

Ms. Misra gained further experience with children and adolescents through her work as a school-based therapist. Ms. Misra has expertise in the treatment of eating disorders and worked as Associate Director and Clinical Therapist at Toledo Center for Eating Disorders (formerly the River Centre Clinic). She previously worked as the Director of the outpatient Childhood Eating Problems Program at Toledo Center for Eating Disorders (formerly River Centre Clinic). Prior to that, Ms. Reed received intensive training in non-directive child-centered play therapy. She also treats a variety of problems experienced during childhood and teen years which include: adjustment problems, ADHD, anger/ behavioral issues, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Anxiety/ phobias and Depression.

In 2021, Ms. Desmond was recognized by the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP) as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) and has done eating disorder consultation for numerous treatment centers and outpatient practices. Her areas of specialty include anxiety, stress, depression, eating disorders and life transitions. She also has experience working in settings providing support and therapy for survivors of domestic violence and people in unhealthy relationships (Project Genesis). She interned at Arrowhead Behavioral Health where she performed assessments and facilitated substance abuse group therapy sessions.

Ms. Soller received a Master’s degree in Counseling from Spring Arbor University after working as an intensive care nurse for 25 years in her former career. She has witnessed years of human behavior in highly volatile and traumatic situations and observed the different ways people cope, which intrigued her to earn her counseling degree. She is passionate about helping people find the positives and change their outlook on life to improve their everyday functioning.
